All about Walks for Women
Navigation and compass/map reading one day courses on 7th August and four dates in September
Walks for Women is a unique local Cumbrian business specialising in affordable guided walks exclusively for women of all ages and abilities in the English Lake District National Park, the Eden Valley and the North Pennines.
Walks for Women is owned and run by Sal Cawley an experienced fell and mountain walker.
Our aim is to give you an exciting and challenging time on the fells and mountains or to take you on a more gentle and leisurely walk by the beautiful lakes and along the valleys. The choice is yours.
For women who want to develop their confidence in the outdoors we can support you to get out walking. Whatever your age, ability, disability or experience we will have a walk for you. Specific walks have been developed for women with disabilities and or limited mobility. Please phone/email for details.
All walks are led by a friendly knowledgable female guide. Groups are kept small, never more than six women, and tailored to individual and group needs and preferences. This ensures you get the best out of your time on the fells.
Walks for Women is located in Clifton a small village near Penrith in the beautiful Eden Valley in Cumbria just outside the Lake District National Park. We are close to the northern and central Lakeland mountains and fells and the North Pennines. A perfect base for many of the best known walks in Lakeland, the Eden Valley and Pennines.
If you are coming on a holiday, short break or weekend walk you will stay in the the owner's home, the Old Farmhouse Moorfoot, a comfortable and relaxing place to come back to after your walk.
You can also prebook a massage with an experienced local female massage practitioner for your return from a day's walk..
Small Group Walks:
Graded planned walks throughout the year at different levels - easy, intermediate, difficult and hard - so you can chose the walks that best suit you in the area or mountain range that you are interested in exploring. This is an ideal opportunity to meet and walk with new walking companions.
Bespoke and tailor-made guided walks for you and your friends if you want to enjoy the Lake District on your own or with a few friends with a guide to help you choose interesting or 'off the beaten track' routes.
Have you ever wanted to walk some of Wainwright's famous Lakeland fells and start 'ticking' off the 214 peaks. We will help you select the Wainwrights close to each other so you can get as many as you feel up to in a day or over a few days.
